TIE Interceptor tactics for Star Wars: Battlefront II

Some background on the Tie Interceptor
The TIE/IN starfighter, simply known as TIE Interceptor is identifiable by its arrow-shaped solar collection panels, a distinct difference from the hexagonal solar arrays of its brother, the TIE Fighter. The Interceptor is one of the fastest starfighters in the galaxy, rivaling the Alliance's RZ-1 A-wing interceptor.

Tie Interceptor Battlefront II

Like most TIE models, the TIE Interceptor shares nearly identical cockpits, drive pods, and wing brace designs with the TIE Fighter. The solar collector panels are lengthened and angled, with the forward center section removed. This new design gives the Interceptor its dagger-like appearance, while providing the pilot with increased visibility and shrinking its target profile for enemy gunners.

The TIE Interceptor's primary role is shooting enemy fighters out of space. Like a TIE fighter, the Interceptor lackes heavy armor, deflector shields, a hyperdrive, and life support systems. Interceptor pilots are forced to rely on speed, maneuverability, and dealing heavy damage to prevail.

In Battlefront II, the TIE/IN Interceptor has three abilities to use:
◾ Afterburner: Gives the ship an instant speed boost beyond its maximum speed for a long time. The speed boost can be cancelled by the player after a short time.
◾ Target Lock: When activated, you cannot lose your current target and time to achieve a missile lock is reduced. Additionally, the target is outlined and receives extra damage from all sources.
◾ Concussion Missile: Fires a fast missile that tracks the locked target and does moderate damage.

TIE Interceptor tactics and tricks
Woaaaa baby it's fast. It's like road runner in space. Use that speed to your advantage to dodge missiles and to get away from X-wings or bombers.

Dive back into action with the deadly target lock/concussion missile combo. The only setback compared to an A-wing is the overheating time of your lasers. Just 2 seconds of fire and they already need to cool down.

This craft is made for hit and run style of playing. Avoid to become the center of all action because even Jar-Jar Binks can kill you with a well placed laser barrage. It's like those TIE fighters and interceptors are made of paper.
